If I Were The President....

These elections have been tumultuous, to say the least. I won't get into debating which side was wrong or right. If you know me, you know where I stand on issues and that's all that should matter.

Now that we have a President-Elect (whether half the country wants to accept it or not), I thought I would take the time to indulge my 10 year old self and pretend I was president for a moment. A huge undertaking, no doubt. But let's just say if I were the President-Elect right now and with the campaign slogan he has: Make America Great Again.

I'm not looking for disagreements about how Donald J. Trump ran his campaign. I'm not looking for comments about how America has always been and will always be great. I just want to play pretend right now and share some great ideas that I have for this GREAT nation of ours.

Let's start with the website that the President-Elect and his transition team have in place for people to apply for a job and connect with their visions and ideas for this country. It's called greatagain.gov.

Using those words, Great Again, I'm going to outline a plan that I would put into place. Granted, I don't have any experience as a politician, but I am passionate about America. So, shall we begin?

Great Again Pacts (GAP) would essentially bridge the "gap" between this very divided country in a lot of different areas.

Starting with Great Again in The Economy (GATE), this pact would work to help all Americans take the steps toward and through the "gates" of financial freedom and success. Hitting in every aspect of the economy, GATE can help all families utilize the necessary tools to grow their businesses, buy a house, do whatever it takes to grow and prosper in the economy.

Great Again Veteran Employment (GAVE) is exactly what it looks like and promises. Giving back to those who "gave" their all, this pact would focus on giving oft-overlooked veterans employment through various opportunities like building tiny home communities for themselves and chronically homeless (single and/or disabled) citizens, mentoring youth, etc - the sky is the limit!

Going to another overlooked sector of our nation, Great Again Local Arts (GALA) would not only restore the chance for communities and families to gather for good causes, but also give positive purpose to a creative generation - all while making America great again.

One of the most important pacts and programs would be Great Again Generational Embrace (GAGE). Offered in "good faith", this program would work to mend the wounds of this forgotten generation. Partnering with youth-oriented organizations, GAGE can take steps in the right direction to make the actions and choices of the youth of this nation great again. Having the leaders of our future work alongside the leaders of yesterday in projects that they're passionate about would certainly help give senior citizens with Alzheimer's and dementia (just to name a few) a sense of pride as well as give teens a sense of accomplishment and positive empowerment.

A hot topic this past election has been immigration. My pact for immigration would be simple: Great Again Immigration Network (GAIN). "Gaining" new citizens is wonderful - we are a melting pot of the world, after all! However, expediting the time it takes for citizens to fully integrate into this country LEGALLY, would be a lot faster with a network of people (hire more people to get the job done!) From legal vetting to employment to housing, GAIN can help people from all over the world find their place in the land of the free and the home of the brave!

GAMMA (Great Again Medical Missions Advancement), GALE (Great Again Land and Energy), and GAS (Great Again Space) are three that have the capabilities to be technologically advanced wonders for all Americans - young and old, but the titles are a work in progress.

There are a lot of other ideas I have, but I'll spare you the boring details. I will say this: I have not lost hope for what this nation is capable of doing and accomplishing! Compared to many other nations, we are young and full of life. There is good and greatness in this nation. We need to tap into it in order to boost up our economy and prosper.

Well, I've had my fun for the day. I've actually shared some of these ideas to the President- Elect's administration. I would love to be involved in bridging the gap between this divided country. If any of these ideas sound good, I'm available.

Love, Peace, and Prayers,
"President" Tiffany

Flavor of my Life: A Chocolate Lover's Confession

Chocolate? Vanilla? Strawberry? Those three flavors are the basis for any great dessert - especially ice cream. But if you really want to tickle my taste buds, combining the power of peanut butter with chocolate is near heavenly. When I asked my class of children (ranging from ages 7 - 12) what their favorite ice cream flavors were, the answers varied, but were surprisingly traditional. When they asked me the same question, without hesitation, I replied with my heavenly duo. Their response? Groans of disgust. I was a little surprised at their lack of imagination - them being kids and all. However, it makes sense when you think of their ever-growing palette. Heck, I'm still picky and in my thirties. But chocolate and peanut butter?! Mmm. Yes, I am writing an entire post about chocolate and peanut butter. In fact, I'll share a recent find of 20 mind-blowing recipes of the all-too-perfect flavor combo. One of my favorite places to go and enjoy these two flavors toget...

Rainy Days Are The Best....

We recently had a couple of rainy days. In fact, as I write this now, the skies are overcast and the temperature cool. It's a rare change for this Southern California girl. Lovin' it! So, as I think about the upcoming weather changes and the holidays that come with it, I also think about the perfect ideas for those rainy days. Here are some of my favorites for those days that come far too rarely and stay far too short. Favorite Rainy Day Film © 2005 - Focus Features Pride & Prejudice is a great movie for those days when it's pouring outside and you're curled up on the couch in your favorite pajamas. The classic love story washes and cleanses your cynical soul from the realities that may surround you. Or is that just because I'm single? Regardless, with its beautiful cinematography and flawless acting by all those cast; Pride & Prejudice is the ultimate go-to for those cozy days spent lying on the couch with absolutely nothing t...

Commitment in Helplessness

Image credit: Ben Hall It's the age-old question: Why do bad things happen to good people? In times of helplessness, it's easy to look around and ask where God is in all of this. We often question why things happen to good people while bad people get away with stuff. That kind of fruitless thinking will certainly drive you mad! God is not a respecter of persons. He does not play favorites; he does not show favortism. Instead of focusing on the negatives that you come across or the injustice in the world, focus and rely on Him. It may be difficult when that's all you really can do, but ultimately He'll direct your path and you'll be rewarded when you seek Him - in total trust and abandonment. A portion of scripture I've come to really love and understand is Psalm 10. It asks all the questions one does in times of helplessness, reveals the injustices of this world, and then flips everything around and looks to the Lord with praise and a cry for help -...
